In early February, 16 students from the lower grades of Hongwu University went to Shanghai to participate in the national forum of Harvard BPC Youth Business Case Analysis Forum.
These 16 students and their four groups won the opportunity to advance to the national forum due to their outstanding performance in the earlier BPC online ranking station.
During the tense, five-day schedule of the national forum, the 16 students and hundreds of excellent teams from all over the country jointly conducted rapid negotiations, cooperation, alliance and competition based on the original Harvard Business School cases, playing well-known enterprises, proposing a "business + social value plan", and face-to-face challenges and inspection from the world's top business schools such as Harvard and Yale, together with top experts in multiple industries on the spot, competing for various national honors and the opportunity to advance to the Harvard Global Forum.
In the end, the four teams won multiple team and individual awards, such as "Top 50 Enterprises", "Best Business Simulation Team", and "Outstanding CEO Nomination". Six students stood out and were selected to participate in the Harvard Global Final Case Challenge, which will be held in Harvard University and Harvard Business School in April this year, and will be presented with MBA-level cases in English.
Among these young students, most of them have been studying business for less than a year. They have the courage to stand on the stage of the national competition and compete with many senior students who have rich experience in competitions and have longer business learning experience. While we praise the excellent achievements of the children, we also see the rich returns from the
diversified growth experiences outside the classroom.
The most impressive part of the Shanghai competition was the "Board Speech" section, which is also the most important part of our BPC national station.Our role-playing company was Marvel, and our partner company was McDonald's.The two sides jointly designed a new Marvel character named "The French Fry". In this section, speech ability and innovative spirit were required. The two "companies" need to solve the difficulties faced by both companies, and they need to cooperate with each other highly.
After this game, I deeply realized the importance of deep understanding between both sides based on cooperation for win-win situations; in addition, more positive interaction with the judges helped us grow a lot.

In this BPC business competition, I truly understand and grasp the business.The most impressive part of this activity is the product selection link. Our team needs to launch a product that is consistent with the ESG concept with the cooperative company. At first, we wanted to launch a perfume. Through analysis (with the assistance of the BPC instructor), we found the shortcomings of this idea. Therefore, because of time constraints, we quickly overturned the original plan and urgently selected an alternative plan, which was undoubtedly a huge challenge. Fortunately, we each played to our advantages and finally won the road show with excellent results and successfully entered the global competition. The "business exhibition" is the section that I have the deepest experience in. In this section, the four members of the team need to be divided into two groups. One group is responsible for searching for "enterprises" suitable for cooperation with us in the meeting place; the other group is responsible for explaining our advantages to other "enterprises" at the booth.This undoubtedly requires each team member to not only be familiar with their own field, but also master the knowledge and skills of other fields. Coordination between members and team consciousness are extremely important. The second important thing I have gained in this section is "quick adjustment of emotions". On the day of the competition, because my alarm clock did not work properly, I arrived at the scene in a hurry. Fortunately, the intense competitive atmosphere at the scene immediately eliminated my anxiety, and I quickly immersed myself in it, forming a tacit cooperation with my partners. Therefore, do not let what happened before or after affect you, just make full use of your conditions and enjoy the time with your team members.

The experience of participating in BPC in Shanghai in early February was a difficult but fulfilling journey. On the first day of the competition, we had to launch an ESG-compatible product together with another team, which was an "unprecedented" challenge. In the following "business presentation" section, we needed to explain our product clearly in one minute and persuade others to "invest" in us. This was a great exercise for my expressive ability and language organisation ability, and also made me more confident in making a speech at the school morning assembly. During this journey, I learned a lot of things that I could not get from books. I not only learned the importance of finding a good partner, but also understood the importance of division of labor and cooperation. I also made friends from all over the country, and found and learned the advantages of others, which made me a better person.I hope we can achieve good results in the global finals.
