There is good news from the biology department. The IBO Intermediate results for 2023 have been released, and five students from our school have won four awards, including Global Gold, Silver, Outstanding, and Excellent. Congratulations to Peter Xu Zi'an and Eason Li Heyi for their outstanding performance, which ranks them in the top 5% of the world, and they both won the Global Gold Award. Congratulations to Olivia Chen Zirong for the Global Silver Award; Luna Wang Yutian for the Outstanding Award, and Hailey Zhang Jiayue for the Excellent Award.
The IBO, also known as the Intermediate Biology Olympiad, is the beginning stage of the BBO, which is also organized by the British Biology Olympiad Committee and the Royal Society of Biology.
The IBO not only tests students' biology knowledge, but also encourages them to continue studying biological sciences outside of school. Those with excellent scores will increase their application advantages in medical, biological and other science majors in world famous universities.
The 2023 exam paper contains 80 questions, including multiple choice, judgment, gap-fill, and match questions. The examination content includes animal anatomy and physiology, cell biology, genetics and evolution, plant anatomy and physiology, and so on.
